MacLeod Highland Supplies operates out of Glasgow. Below is a note from owner Donald Gibson -
We started making bagpipes in 1989 and are still doing so. Most of those we have made are African Blackwood although we have supplied budget models in Ebony, Keranda and Mopane at various times. The Mopane and Keranda which are brownish woods were stained black to give the appearance of Blackwood. The bagpipe would normally be stamped on the pipe chanter only which means without it they are hard for the untrained eye to recognise. The combing and beading has changed a few times as Bagpipe Makers arrived and departed. All our pipes are hand made as we do not use CNC copy lathes like many companies today. Our pipes should not be confused with those of Gillanders and McLeod which have no connection to us.
