MacPhee, Donald

Donald MacPhee made bagpipes in Glasgow from 1872 until 1880.  He was also a top solo piper and highland dancer. A couple interesting notes -

John MacColl worked and studied with MacPhee from 1877 until MacPhee’s untimely death in 1880.

Peter Henderson took over the MacPhee shop in 1880, shortly after MacPhee’s death.

This set was bought new from MacPhee’s shop in early 1880 and has stayed in the same family since.
